April, already!

Wow, hellooooooo April. And may i just say how uterly gorgeous you are!!!

Again a lot has happened so i probably won't fit it all in here and concentrate on the bits you want me to shut up about, but its my blog so *makes rude gesture*.

So, i'm in Birmingham, and its not as bad as i thought, not really bored at all and less than a week till i get my MacBook Pro =D Can't wait!!!

Went to see Aqualung on Esater Sunday, my word what an amazing little gig it was too! Everyone should definatly try and see them ASAP! They were supported by a little folk trooper named Kate Walsh, her musics good, if a little samey, still worth a quick sample search on iTunes however.

I'm really getting into Oblivion on the 360, just bought some new content for it costing me just under 4 quid which should help my enjoyment of the game by adding new quests and spells :D

Just started doing my mountain of Uni work, i don't think i'm going get it all done by Monday but i want to get at least one bio SAQ set done, the other one attempted at least, the research on diabetes done for the GBL next Thursday, and a compleet run through of all the Japanese vocab and grammer up until now as well as trying to learn as much kanji as i can. In short, i have a lot left to do.

I'm realising i'll have about £200 to last me for a month or two, not good. i'm getting 1,900 ish, 1200 of it is for the macbook, leaves 700, 400 of which is for my accomodation, leaving 300, 100 of which will cover my phone bill for 2 or 3 months. so yeah, still no money due to my one extravegant purchase of the year. But at least i'll have a reliable laptop that will work and last me for the next 3 years.

Anywho this is my attempt at keeping this old battle axe rolling, more soon!!!

Macs, Finances and Summer Time

To continue this theme of talking about things on my mind the MacBook Pro still is. Like i mentions it'll be costing me a few pennis over £1,200 which is a lot of money i've heard from people. It's scaring me now lol

My argument for it however is that i will be getting a job (wow, Karl actually working!!!) over the summer and intend to work as much as i can as well as helping out my family which may give me some 'pocket money', this all in a bid to start paying back my overdraft which at the moment stands at -£1,800. That overdraft may go up by another 100, depending how the exam period goes, but it should be possible to earn at least half back if i'm sensible with my spending over the summer whilst working.

I need to try and save some money up for my year in Japan, i'm not sure how i'm going to finance the trip but i'm expecting and hoping that some handy bursaries of some description, maybe an increased student loan for that year as well as my family helping me out. I have my christmas and birthday money 07-08 to help too though so i hope to try and clear my overdraft so my balance is ZERO by the time i get the plane and that i have some money up somewhere hiding. I also should be getting a grand or so inheritance which i get access to when i turn 21 so that'll help when i'm in Japan or when i get back.

Phew!!! that's helped me think and clear my mind!

Part 2

I REALLY can't wait for my MacBook Pro now. I'm going mental. 3 weeks and a day left. I just want it so i can get it all set up, get my software loaded on it, start using it, start playing WoW again and start living my new mac'd up digital life!

I'm trying to get into a game with an aim to get at least half way though it by end of easter. Can't decide which though, i'm currently playing Okami and FF XII and thats it really. If i just keep on chugging through them i should be able to clock up another 20 hours on each easily.

I've got quite a list of things to do over easter: - Make sure i know 150+ kanji, Research for my GBL on diabetes, Load of Japanese work sheets to get done, Molecules to Cells and Data Handling to start revising, Lab write up to draft and 2 SAQs for the labs as well. Ah well, my aim is to do about 30-40 mins of kanji a day as well as going over my Japanese vocab and grammer at the same time, and then just doing the rest when i want to hehe.

This is just another random update blog, hopefully i can start doing themed ones again soon!

Adios! x

2 Week Absence

WOW 13 days without a new blog, and what a 2 weeks it's been. Everything has been happening, from a love interest or 2, a couple complete retards, a fuck tonne of uni work to contend with (all thankfully past tense at last!), to a couple trips to the cinema.

Main result to come out of the past 2 weeks is that thanks to a few of my friends, i think i am a better person now. Sounds a little pretentious but i honestly believe it. Hopefully you'll experience it too and maybe notice the difference and slight changes. A reason for doing this is that i haven't been able to get what i want from this year really so far. My relationships with people i know is pretty much at an all time low but with easter upon me, i should be able to patch some relationships back home, before bringing the renewel tour north.

I haven't been out since my birthday-thats like 6 weeks ago!!! Almost unheard of of the average gay guy in manchester or even the average student let alone both!

I have today finally decided on my next major purchase; the 15.4" Widescreen MacBook Pro.

My current Laptop PC is playing it up something rotten so i have decided to become a 'switcher' and get a mac. My current laptop is going to be bought by my mom from me for £400 which will go towards the costs of my MacBook Pro. The cost of the sexy bugger is £1350. i am however getting it for £1,200 ish including 3 years extended protection with apple themselves. I'm going to be buying it on the 16th April-student loan pending- and leaving my current laptop in Birmingham that very morning.

I just thought i should start the ball rolling on this blog so there you have it. Expect to blog again shortly-probably tomorrow. So until then! x

PS3 and a bit of Bond

Oh NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Sony have decided to be annoying and make the PS3 something i want again! God damn them!!!

For those who have no clue of whats come from Sony's camp this week i'll inform. A little thing called Home was announced, which basically acts as a cross between Second Life and a way of getting into your games. Doesn't sound such a big deal really till you realise that you get to create your own avatar, have your own expandable, customisable apartment, are allowed to invite people back to yours to crowd round your virtual TV and get a game on allowing you to move as a group between different games in theory. This really surprised and made me angry for i know i will now have to spend about £400 on one of them great big slabs of technology at some point in the next 12-15 months probably. DAMN THEM!!!

I'm not sad enough to just want it for a glorified IM client with match making skillz but that coupled with FF XIII, MGS4 and DMC4 and the amazing Little Big Planet acting as a turning point in my mind from 'Sony have seriously fucked up this gen' to 'Sony have fucked up this gen but i think i'm going to have some fun with its product'.

In other technology news, i've just experienced the 360 HD-DVD add on running King Kong at 1080 on a 32" Sony TV. YUMMY!!! It is literally like better than cinema quality picture in your home and all for about £99. Fair enough!

Last nights Charity Dinner Dance went well, it was James Bond themed and i wore a tux as you can see below . . . please be kind with your comments people! lol

Thats all for now i think, shall defo be blogging soon =D

Oh Noooooo!!!

Following my lackluster performance in the Semester 1 exams i am gutted to announce that Semester 2 is shaping up far worse! I have just failed the Data Handling ePBLs just because i've forgot to do them, so now i have to sit the exam in the summer and score over 70%. EEEEEK!!

Molecules to Cells, my only real lecture this semester, is alright, been to about 80% of the lectures, listened in about 20% of them so its not looking to good, BUT i do have time on my side in the form of 3 weeks off for Easter holiday :D

Also i've done practically no Japanese to speak of since January. I have about 100 Kanji i should know, endless verbs, adjectives and nouns as well as conjugations up to my ears. I have about 8-10 sheets of work i need to do for Shaw-sensei to stick in the portfolio we need to hand in before the start of the Easter holidays.

Only got an hour tomorrow of Japanese, the rest of the time i'm going to force myself to start doing some work, starting with Japanese since its worth 4 Biology units. Hopefully the next time i blog on here i'll have some fun tales of my life to tell but for now, thats all folks! x

World of Warcraft Addiction!

I have returned to the World of Warcraft and it feels good! I already have quite a few characters but the only ones of note are a level 19/20 Tauron Druid, level 15 Gnome Mage and with the Burning Crusade i made a Blood Elf Paladin who is now level 20/21. The paladin has got a bit dull atm just because it is such a gear focused class and killing mobs takes sooo long due to having to heal yourself to just basically outlast the enemy.

So, i renewed my subscription the other night and rolled a Blood Elf Male Mage, and i am having so much fun with this dude! Named Zodiark, after the most powerful Esper in FF XII, and on my favorite server, BronzeBeard; he is now level 7 after about an hour and half of play which isn't bad at all. I'm hoping to get a few hours in tomorrow with him after i've done a few pages of my Japanese stuff which needs to be done!

Joe's - a new cafe/bar/restaurant in the northern quarter of Manchester, in between Aflecks and Market St- has taken me hostage again! I Love this place! The food is great, the service friendly if i tiny bit too slow, the coffees and the onion rings, pancakes and Joe's Fries are AMAZING! I'm not lying! AND its all very reasonably priced so thats why i've been going there at every opportunity to.

Final Fantasy XII is shaping up to be a really great game, so far i'm about 4 hours in and i am having so much fun. The Gambit system works well to take the grind out of grinding levels, but i like the fact you can't just sit back and let the game play itself, you need to get in there and make decisions. The license board is a great way of character development, so much more flexible and transparent than the sphere grid of X. The story and graphics are also up to scratch and the main character Va'an isn't as annoying as i thought he'd be (aka he's not a Tidus 2.0). Thats just my few after a few hours though. I have also just got the very sexy Piggyback guides to FF XII and today i bought the one for X-2 as well as a pretty Sephiroth little figure. I'm also intending to get the guides to FF X, IX and VII before too long-the art work and info in there is just amazing!

I annoyingly have a presentation on whatever my 1500 biology essay will be on and it has to be about 5-10 mins long too so i'm not looking forward to starting that. In other uni news, Yuki, a girl i emailed over a week ago, still hasn't replied to me! I'm going to have to tell Banto-sensei about it and maybe he'll issue me a new Japanese student to correspond with.

My Apple addiction is soon to go into overdrive, on the 16th of April i will order my Black MacBook from Apple over the phone-hopefully getting a few freebies thrown in as well as my 15% HE Student Discount, which has meant i only have to pay £850 rather than £999 so i'm a happy bunny or will be. My current laptop has been playing up so i'm going to have to back up my anime .avi's, music and photos onto DVDs soon.

Next weekend i'm back in Birmingham for the bi-annual Charity Dinner Dance, this time its James Bond themed, so i'm going in tux et al. Pictures shall be posted and much laughter caused as a result soon after. ALSO St Patricks Day is coming up 2 weeks today! can't fucking wait! I'm going to have to go out and get pissed just to express what is Irish in me aka my strong tolerance of alcohol.

Soooo this it the first post of my new (and final) blog. Hope you enjoyed =D

Mail me comments/bitchyness or just post it below =P
